The progistran only pill is based on a hormone called desogestra. The big advantage with it is that you don't really need to have your blood pressure done every year, which is what's usually required for the combined contraceptive pill. Navejoit larder says there's very few women who can't take it. But if this idea goes ahead, i think it's worth being very clear about what over the counter means, because it'sn as simple as just going to the super market and putting it in your shopping basket.
