Is There Such a Relationship That Matters?

Knowing people seems to be a precondition for other kinds of relationships that give the meaning of our life, like friendship and love. It doesn't make sense to say that you're friends with some one if you don't know them. So in a way, the exact use of the english word no is not even that important. Is there such a relationship? Is that important? Does that matter? Do it simply consist of knowing a mentral fact about another person or not?
