The Best Way to Address Inequalities

The question really, and I do think it's an important philosophical one for a potential president. Is the best way to address those inequalities through trying to improve equality of opportunity? Did you feel uncomfortable when President Biden announced that he was going to find an African American female to fill the latest Supreme Court vacancy before having started the selection process? Or did you feel actually, yes, that is the right thing to do?
