The Monsters of Pudida Street Station
I don't want the monstrous in my world is not a synonym for kind of unfathomable evil at all. The, the grotesqueery is what I'm interested in. Some monsters have completely opaque motivations. You can't possibly get inside its head, but that doesn't mean it's evil. And then some of them are animals, like the slate moths from the first of the series, Pudida Street Station. They do a huge amount of damage, but they're not evil. They're not devils. They're just predatory animals.
