How to Adjust the Idea Ratio on a Ventilator
A one to two is pretty common for you or me, or anyone without without obstructive respiritory disease. But often we have to go much higher on that expertory ratio when someone has obstructive disease. Most of the ventilators we have at hopkins, you adjust the inspitory flow rate, and that gives you an idea, rather than the reverse,. In the operating room it's the opposite, where we adjust directly the idea ratio.
