Yum is never joining the idea of being a prophet himself or truly Christ. He's saying this is an archetypal image that we all have possible within us. The antecedent example of the saints symbolically teaches us this. It belongs to this mystery that man is not redeemed through the hero, but becomes a Christ himself.
