How Does Animacy Compare to Semantic Animalacy?

Not all languages make this distinction in their grammar. In some Australian languages something very much like this animacy hierarchy determines your verb alignment. And then the last thing I want to mention is that there are lots of languages in the world that only have what gets called animacy and in animacy as grammatical gender. That's mostly what we're talking about here.
