The Role of the Media in Fashion History
Photographers, painters and museums all play a role in shaping what we view as fashionable. We can't call out retail displays for using certain size mannequins and not showing other sizes but then give all museums a pass on the fact that they use the same size too. You know, if we 100 years from now, if curators reconstructed the fashions of today and based it solely on what they saw in Vogue,. everybody would think that we were all size two, four, zero.
