Mexico's Economic Relationship With the US

Mexican industries need the United States, but the US does not need them. Changes in US attitudes could quickly lead to renegotiations of trade deals such as NAFTA. Mexico's closeness to the US is also hurting portfolio investment. The more favorable type of foreign investment that keeps control of assets and resources in the country would just prefer to put their money into the USA.
