What Is the Bottom of the Fed Funds Range?
If they raise 75 basis points, the 30 year would be a full percentage point below the bottom of the Fed funds range. Why would somebody put money into a treasury that's yielding 1 percentage point lower than the repo? It does not make any sense. If this spread gets this big, that means there's massive utility of it out there in the shadow banking system. There is some major stress in the global financial system.
