What Is a Hypothesis in Quant UX Research?

The word hypothesis is used so loosely amongst qualitative researchers, myself included. Hypothesis has a more specific meaning when you're doing quant UX research. It's crucial to have those hypotheses laid out in writing before you run your experiment or your survey. So we're really taking these kinds of vague gut feelings based on prior work and kind of translating those into actionable research questions.
