Study after study shows that when we see someone else obviously lying, we are far more likely to do so ourselves. Holmes kept departments within Pheronos from talking to one another and unable to talk to the marketing and sales team. She went to great lengths to keep external stakeholders out of the business. Whistleblowers who stand up against cheating are unfortunately rare. It's clear that this culture of dishonesty made employees far morelikely to cheat.
