By the end of the sixties, music alone wasn't enough. You couldn't sing b bopa lula or yakety yak after bob dillon and be seen in the same category as bob. Suddenly, song writers who came after were putting out truths. They were engaging people with words. It feels like literature somehow. If it's not literature, what is it? Lyrics? But here's the thing, and i try to get at this with our guests when they get here, you'll hear me fumble toward thi fumble, stumble, whatever kind of bumbling lats, grumble, whatever ever word it's appropriate.
