I Don't Feel Invited, Because She Was Surprised That a Young Black Boy Knew the Answer

All of us experience rejection in a number of ways. The same area of your brain that lights up for physical pain, like being punched in ta stomach, lights up for rejection even when it's insignificant. We can also experience rejection verbally, when some one attempts to talk and some one doesn't respond in the way that you want them to or even worse, they weren't listening. One of the things that hurts my six year old more than anything in this world is to withhold a treat from him. To receive a treat is not just to receive arises, is to receive affirmation and love from his parents. And to not have it leads, and has led, to a certain melt down.
