Carvana: A Controlled Stock
Before you short a stock, you have to locate that stock from a broker. That way the person you initially sell it to won't get his shares. But there are no guarantees in this business, just because you located the stock doesn't mean that it sticks. Many short sellers have no way out other than to give up. What matters is there isn't enough stock for the shorts to keep shorting.
