Maths is a communal enterprise and I don't think people actually realize that all the time. It's not these isolated even though occasional breakthroughs are made by isolated individuals happens all the time, he says. The typical public view of my position to the extent that people even know that there are still my positions who are alive today they do probably think of them as a person in a cave in a wizard hat doing sort of amazing mental feats like separated from you know the real world that's a completely unrealistic view.
