It's been repealed essentially because the supreme court got a far right majority and they decided they didn't like it any more. The ideology of originalism kind of s it is fairly new. It has to be literally how it was set out in the constitution back in the 17 hundreds, and you have to apply laws that other people would construe or interpret them back in that time period. They argue that, no, you have to use the very old school, very a you essentially have to imagine that you're a white slave owner in the states who's reading the constitution.
