The Hanoverian Succession Issue

Queen Anne and her government sought to formalise this union between England and Scotland. Was it that looming succession issue? It was certainly part of it, says Lord Tebbit. The English Parliament passed the act of settlement in 1701 which secured the Hanoverian succession - they didn't consult Scotland at all.
