Nixon's Asylum Majority Speech
Nixon's idea was that in order to extricate America for Vietnam, it actually had to be much harsher. And these punitive measures and the expansion of the war, bombing, you know, Vietcong supply chains in Laos and Cambodia, huge protests. That's when Nixon gives his famous asylum majority speech. Then Agnew comes along and starts attacking the press as being a negative group of people who determine what Americans read and see on the television.
