The Politics of Political Theology
The term political theology is quite controversial and it's got a lot of angles to it. It stands apart from theology proper because it looks analytically at how concepts that initially appear to be secular conceal theological and religious roots or histories. So for the example I give is one of the better ones I think is progress. We think of social or economic progress as a modern secular idea. But the idea itself is received from Jewish and Christian ideas about the end of time, the end of the world and the apocalypse.
