His latest article Gold, Silver and Monetary Stability published in the March issue of Finance and Development magazine. Had France maintained biometallism, had they maybe agreed with Germany and other countries on a global biometallic system which at least technically would have been feasible, whether it's politically feasible is another question. Without international cooperation you can provoke enormous bouts of monetary instability as was the case in the 1870s when the world moved to the gold standard.
