The Role of Error in Making a Mess in Scientific Experiments
Ernest Lawrence's cyclotron is a fantastic example where by sort of realizing their mistakes and their errors they really made progress in their understanding. They missed a number of key discoveries that were made by other research groups around the world. So I've been thinking about this since writing the book and I think I'd like to make the analogy with in the arts right so if you if you have a creative practice in the arts failure is an error it's just an inherent part of it.
