i don't doubt that this authoritarian right can do a lot of damage. But i wonder how much we should fear that hungarian style competitive authoritarianis could actually work in the united states, because someone would have to actually implement it. And so i'm curious, do you think i'm being too polyanish about this? And if so, where do you thinkthat the republican party can take the lessons of orbanism, or portugal under salazar and actually implement them in the foreseeable five or ten years?
