The Manhattan Project and the Atomic Plague
The Japanese government spent over a decade pressuring the US government to release it. A film scholar named Eric Barno found the old footage in the National Archives and edited it down to a 16 minute short that screened at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. For the first time, the American public was able to view, firsthand, the effects of the atomic bombs that had been developed and dropped 23 years earlier.
