Cabeza De Vaca's Journey to Asuncion

Cabeza de Vaca led a force of 400 Spanish soldiers and 800 Indian allies up the Paraguay River. He had made peace with many native tribes, but there were some that remained hostile toward his troops. The settlers of the region saw the natives as slave labor, mere savages. It would not take long for Martinez de Arralla to arrest CabezaDeVaca on charges of mismanaging the colony.
