Obesity seems to be a partially class based issue. After riots in 19 68, in the wake of the martin luther king junior assassination, president nixon began programmes that gave subsidies, a federal funds, to fast food franchises. The administration asserted that black owned businesses serving fast food would help to cure urban unrest by promoting an entre pernureal spirit in poor communities.
