Kissinger says appeasers thought of themselves as tough realists, which is actually a pretty shrewd observation. The second thing that's really important about Kissinger is going to Harvard and being made to read the complete works of Immanuel Kant. A professor was trying to get rid of him but didn't reckon with Kissinger who came back having read all of his work. There's a lesson there for all professors, be careful what you wish for.
