The Social Contract Is Not Democratic, It's Just the State
Hobbs, by setting up the social contract, was prefiguring locke. So even though it's not democratic exactly, it's sposidly representative. And so by saying it's just the state younow, this thing that fundamentally we all created and presents us. This is what gave us hundreds of years of religious wars as people referring to external religion.
