The UFC's First Fighter to Die in the UFC

If a UFC fighter passes away due to a negligent referee, will the commission have to answer for the referee's actions? I don't think it would be a death knell for MMA or the UFC. The first fighter to die in the UFC is going to be a big story. And I say the first one because I don't Think they'll only be ever be one.
