Why Do Brahmins Write in Sanskrit?

In contrast, Brahmins maintained continuous relationship with the Mughals for about a century. Why do we have thousands of pages of Jane's writing in Sanskrit about their Mughal ties, and we have basically Bupkis from Brahmins? I've sort of been haunted by this bermanical silence for a long time now.
