What World Comes From This Teaching That They're So Scared Of?
The 1619 project has done so much work to educate the public and make this information accessible. The documentary is coming out at a time when states like Florida are looking to adopt new state education standards that would turn away from this kind of historical teaching. What they would prefer is a generation and a society composed of people who are asleep, ignorant, and ill-informed than people who are awake, informed, educated, and critically engaged.
