The Ouija Board - A Brief History
The board was released in the decades immediately following the Civil War. It wouldn't be until 1973, but for widespread opposition to the Ouija board began to form. In 1862, even First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln held seances in the White House after her 11 year old son's death.
