Mona lisa was stolen in 19 11 by an italian man who thought he was doing his patriotic duty by returning the picture to italy. Leonardo devenci, toward the end of his life, actually was called to france by the king. And so that's how the monolisa ended up there. But specifically for world war too, the louvre curators up the monalisa in this crate, along with more than three thousand other works of art. They were loaded into trucks and sent south.
