The Fest of the Unity and Indivisibility of the Republic
When the vote came back in, the constitution turned out to be accepted by an overwhelming margin. To celebrate this glorious ratification of the great constitution of 17 93, the parisians threw a massive party called the fest of the unity and indivisibility of the republic. But when a delegate in the national convention stood up to suggest calling elections for the new legislature, he was practically laughed out of the room. There were far too many emergencies out there to risk inaugurating a new government. And next week we will introduce the men of the reconstituted committee of safety to whom the fate of the revolution could clearly not be entrusted to the people of france.
