How to Deal With a Dissociative Identity Disorder
The vast majority of people who develop dissociative disorders have experienced repetitive, overwhelming trauma in their childhood. More than 70% of outpatients with dissociative identity have attempted suicide. Therapy may be intense as it involves remembering and coping with past traumatic events that may have been pushed away by these personalities. Hypnosis has been found to be helpful, but there's major trust issues with disassociative identity disorder.
