In order to bring any kind of pressure to bear, america and its allies will have to have some kind of contact with the taliban. Ed: We've seen china put out feelers to the taliban even before the fall of kabul. Russia, iran, they've kept their embassies open. Pakistan has always had very strong ties to the taliman.
