The Militaryization of Governments in South Sudan

The s p l a became hegemonic force in insa suden. It took over taxation, took over many government functions at the community level. Communities would support and feed the soldiers,. feeding as an incredibly important, by the way, in south sudan. A would feed the soldiers and in return be protected by them. And so that reciprocal kind of simbiosis continued on past when south sudan became a a country where the sp l a maintained that reciprocal relationship. But another aspect of militarization was there was really a dominant way of communicating within this system, and it was by armed rebellion.
