The Importance of Filmmaking
When we first started making movies, the thing to do is to be in them. And so I would film my friend and my friend would film me. We did a lot of detective kind of genre stuff like love James Bond. My father was nothing like Jake Lamotta, but there was a part of him that was everything likeJake Lamotta. There was this aspect of kind of a very tortured soul. It's funny because you're always trying to figure out what your angle is into filmmaking.
