I suppose in line with the shift that deep learning itself was taken it seems like you explored a number of different approaches for types of neural architectures with which to approach the various problems of NLP. There are different threads and in some sense this is a history that's still unfolding I mean it's been a decade or so but I feel like we're still in the middle of it, right? You know firstly there was the idea of having distributed representations of words because rather than simply having symbols they can have multi-dimensional form of similarities between words. That lets you do a lot of interesting things semantically that just weren't possible otherwise even as you do lots of interesting linguistic things.
