Ann Charity Headley: Black language practices are wide linguistic and cultural ways that black people communicate with each other. She says it's very specific and technical on the one hand, and how I pronounce my words and what grammatical patterns I use. And then others, once we get into certain community environments or different learning environments, we can hear ourselves even making these linguistic choices because of how we've been socialized.
