The Case of Eric Pinkton

Art Pinkton was arrested for a series of rapes in the Sacramento area. His sister told police that he had planned to murder a woman, and kept his toolbox in her garage. Police were on the verge of obtaining a search warrant for Art Pinkton when they found him with several items which could have been used as weapons. The first attack would be committed by the same man from June 18, 1976 - but it turned out to be false. A serial rapist is believed to have attacked eight women over two weeks between September and October 1975.
