When we stop taking these things personally, it eliminates a little bit, or stantial portion of the emotional diress that we're feeling. When you can take that out, cause i' certainly had the experiences if i'm negotiating with a male counterpart where i used to think to myself, oh, he wouldn't talk to another man that way. So there's biases that many people have to deal with. And so once i was able to take the emotion out of it, which is painful, but knowing what my end goal is and then bridge that gap, it just takes the power away from the hostile negotiator.
