Transgenic Bioengineering: The Future of Genetic Engineering

Jay Parini: Transgenic is a gene that comes from not only a different organism, but from one that could never get mixed into this plant through normal breeding techniques. He says you can turn on and turn off genes all you want; it doesn't matter where they come from. Parini: I still think it's not a good idea to demonize transgenic bioengineering because it's based upon this false idea that there's something different about a gene.
