Is There Such a Difference Between Philosophy and Literature?
In Britain and America, there's quite a strong academic stranglehold over what gets taught as philosophy within departments. One reason is that in the 20th century and in the 21st century, he has lost its fourth wall if you know what I mean. There really has been a professional deformation, a narrowing of intellectual horizons because philosophy is almost exclusively produced for consumption within universities. To become trained as that kind of philosopher is to become trained as a bullshit detector. You learn certain kinds of fallacy. It's perfectly okay to go around detecting fallacies. But when people start producing thoughts that don't really add up,I think the proper philosophical response would be to say that's interesting
