The Navier-Stokes equations one didn't really know many very basic things about them. Does it matter that in the end there's this little sensitive effects that will be associated with molecules that might get amplified into some of the randomness and turbulence or does that not matter? I myself worked on that second question quite a bit in the 1980s. The idea is to just have a bunch of devices that are cameras and radio receivers and audio receivers and so on and put a bunch of these devices around the US kind of looking up into the sky  and just record continuously from them, he says.
