The First Woman on the Faculty at Harvard Medical School
Alice hamilton was offered a position teaching at harvard medical school as an assistant professor of industrial medicine. The school wasn't accepting women as students at the time. She continued to use her various positions to work not just for the betterment of occupational health, but also for social reform and health care. Her work with impoverished communities continued to drive her efforts,. including work and epidemic disease, infant mortality reduction and addiction.
