How to Use Voice Over in Movies

I think the whole second half of the movie really brings her character in with more agency and it's not just Joel's bed memories of her from that point on we're really with Clementine more and more well. Brian Cox as Robert McKee says God help you if you use voice over just always take that line so I was thinking about voice over this time around. It can be a really easy way to tell something instead of finding a more interesting like lean forward to plus two kind of way to tell you how a character is feeling or am I hearing their thoughts  it sort of has this fourth wall problem where it's like is the character talking to me or am I hear their thoughts
