The Impact of the Exogenous Shocks on Pakistan
Pakistan was uniquely exposed to some of the external shocks faced by emerging markets last year. The government both under Prime Minister Khan and more recently under Prime Minister Sharif had been undertaking some very politically difficult reforms. But at the same time, both governments ultimately pulled back from the really politically difficult reforms that were required to keep the IMF in support of its program.
