Cyrus was the lieutenant governor of washington when he was 35 years old. He went into a 30-day silent retreat to deal with internal noise in his mind and realized it's because he was performing to what other people thought of him. After that, "he had this shift in his consciousness where he just stopped feeling like he needed to perform," says Michael Wolraich.
