The History of Hard-Distilling MySQL
In 2005, Vitez was struggling to keep up with the number of videos being created. The company had sharded its database but couldn't manage it all at once. A co-founder made a spreadsheet of every outage that he saw and what could be done about it. He then came up with an idea for new software called Vitez which would solve this problem as well as future ones.
